The weekly meeting is the habit that gets reviewed least. It exists because it existed last week.
A simple test
Ask one thing: what decision came out of this meeting last month? If the answer is nothing, what you need is not a meeting but a written note.
Replace it, don't just delete it
A forum removed without a replacement comes back under another name. Replace it with a written note that has an owner and a deadline, and keep the meeting for things that genuinely need debating.
